History Nexuiz development started as a Quake modification in the summer of 2001 by Lee Vermeulen. There are 24 official maps as well as hundreds of community. Nexuiz features 9 different weapons, each of which has an alternate firing mode. The game uses DarkPlaces, a modified Quake engine.
